The Start of the Journey

It was her first visit to Turkey.

She came to make the biggest decision of her life. Would she follow love to an unknown place, or choose to be safe and remain alone?

Though sure of love, she was not so sure of Turkey. It was far away and so foreign to her native California.

But something there was calling her.

Upon arriving a friendly stranger gave her a pair of sterling silver earrings set with handmade glass beads. He was one of the last glass masters and told her that wearing the earrings would bring her protection.

She visited four shores - on the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Agean Sea and the Sea of Marmara.

She crossed the mountains from North to South and East to West.

She drank tea, ate sweets and savories, and had her fortune read in the bottom of a coffee cup.

They all told her to stay.

So she did.

And this is the story of what happened afterward ...

I'm so glad you were courageous and took this journey! If only for the very selfish reason that it caused our paths to cross - how else would I ever have met you??

Seriously! Though I find it strange that we didn't meet sooner. :)

Tara! I love this promising premise and while I know a little bit of what's happened along the road, I can't wait to read your narrative!
